OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Two police officers face criminal charges alleging they assaulted people they had arrested.

Former Midwest City police officer Amber Lynn Myers was charged yesterday with misdemeanor counts of assault, battery and falsely reporting a crime. According to a police report, a jail video shows Myers grabbing a female inmate by the hair, throwing her to the ground and kicking her because the inmate was not being cooperative.

In a separate incident, a police report indicates Oklahoma City police officer William Scott Ricketts was videotaped striking a man twice as he was being booked into the Oklahoma County jail on April 17th.

Ricketts was charged with misdemeanor counts of assault and battery.

Myers resigned last month. Ricketts is on paid administrative leave.
