OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A new report says the number of students enrolling in Oklahoma public schools will decline by 2 percent by 2012, but the student population will be more diverse.

The report from the Southern Regional Education Board says the number of Hispanic and American Indian students will increase while the percentage of white and black students will decline.

The SREB says from 1992 to 2002 the number of kindergarten through 12th-graders increased by 5 percent in Oklahoma while student enrollment nationwide rose by 13 percent.
