A Booker T Washington teacher failed to show up for his due process hearing and has been fired.
John Stinchcomb was supposed to face the Tulsa School Board Monday night, but neither he nor his lawyers showed up.
Stinchcomb faces criminal charges after a 16-year old student says she had sex with him several times. Since Stinchcomb didn't appear, the board agreed with the Superintendents recommendation to fire him.
Tulsa School Board president Matt Livingood: “Obviously, this is not an individual whose behavior we could have predicted ahead of time. If we have any indication of the behavior that was undertaken here, it is not tolerated. Individuals will be recommended for termination immediately, as Mr. Stinchcomb was."
The former photography teacher and soccer coach faces seven criminal charges of sexual battery and forcible sodomy.
