McCURTAIN, Okla. (AP) -- A Stigler man dies when the tractor-trailer he was driving ran off Oklahoma Highway 31 in southeastern Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 41-year-old Herbert Lee Blackwell suffered massive injuries in the Thursday accident near McCurtain in Haskell County.
Troopers believe Blackwell's truck was eastbound on the highway when it failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road.
The patrol says the vehicle struck several trees, causing Blackwell to be thrown from the truck out the driver side door. He died at the scene.
Troopers say Blackwell wasn't wearing a seat belt.
