A criminal pushed over a 96-year-old Tulsa woman to get at $2 Thursday.
The home invasion happened in the 2700 block of North St. Louis. The victim was left with a head injury. News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan says the woman can barely walk but when she stood up out of wheelchair to answer the door Thursday morning, a man pushed his way in - pushed her down and took her money.
All she had was $2. Elvie Toliver is 96, but she's sharp. She knows better than to open her door for anyone - but the man at the door said he was "Henry" - that's a man she knows who helps her with her garden.
He shoved his way in to get her money and in the struggle, Miss Toliver hit her head, leaving a nasty cut and blood all over her clothes and the floor. "So he said, Oh Mama, I don't mean to hurt you, I just need some money, and I said, why you think I got money?"
The man took off, but Tulsa Police have his description. He is a black man, in his 40's wearing a tan shirt, dark pants, and short hair.
