Tulsa Transit joins in a national effort in response to high gas prices.
It's called Dump the Pump. The idea is to encourage residents to leave their vehicles at home Thursday and use public transit.
Officials say public transit offers the quickest, easiest alternative to the high cost of driving.
Right now a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Tulsa goes for $2.69.
