OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State Senator Cal Hobson blasted Republican state House Speaker Todd Hiett Thursday as Hobson formally announced his plans to run for lieutenant governor.
Hobson is a Democrat and one of three candidates for the Democratic nomination.
Hiett is one of three running for the GOP nomination.
Hobson says Hiett has an abysmal voting record in the state House, including votes against money for a state cancer center, a new weather center and improvements in health care.
Hiett says he's "flattered" that Hobson considers him as the Republican opponent Hobson might face in the general election.
Hobson joins Representative Jari Askins and former congressional aide Pete Regan in the race for the Democratic nomination.
Hiett faces state Senators Nancy Riley and Scott Pruitt for the Republican nomination.
Norman resident EZ Million is running as an independent.
