A Tulsa teenager was killed when he was hit by a minivan overnight. It happened around midnight on Interstate-44 just east of Peoria.

Highway Patrol troopers say 17-year-old Raymond Alexander of Tulsa was riding a foot-powered scooter with friends when he tried to run across two lanes of traffic. Troopers say a minivan struck and killed Alexander.

The driver of the minivan was not seriously hurt. The accident diverted eastbound I-44 traffic for about an hour and a half.
