HANNA, Okla. (AP) -- An unattended vehicle on the Indian Nation Turnpike leads to a fatality accident Tuesday morning on the North Canadian River bridge near Hannah.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 34-year-old truck driver Anselmo Sanchez of Batesville, Texas, was pronounced dead about 9 AM at the Henryetta Medical Center.
The patrol says Sanchez was northbound on the turnpike in a tractor-trailer about 5 AM Tuesday when he slammed into an unattended vehicle that was in the roadway from a previous collision.
Sanchez's truck then hit the median, overturned and came to rest on its side hanging over the North Canadian River bridge.
It took emergency crews more than two hours to free Sanchez from the vehicle, and both northbound lanes were shut down for about four hours.
