OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Senators Tom Coburn and Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma were on the losing side of an effort to remove a provision allowing undocumented immigrants to eventually become U-S citizens.
An amendment offered to a Senate bill to delete the provision failed with 66 senators voting against it.
Coburn and Inhofe supported another amendment that passed. It calls for 370 miles of fencing along the Mexican border to keep illegal immigrants out of the country.
