PAWHUSKA, Okla. (AP) -- Court officials say an Osage County man charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of a Hominy waitress will go to trial September 11.
64-year-old Roy Westbrook pleaded not guilty before District Judge-M-John Kane IV during his arraignment in Osage County.
Police records show he is accused of fatally shooting 26-year-old Rebecca Clements three times, once in the mouth and twice in the upper body.
Investigators think Clements was shot after she wrote a letter to a local newspaper defending her sister, who was late on rent money owed to Westbrook.
Westbrook remains in the Osage County jail held in lieu of bail.
