OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- President Bush will honor an Oklahoma State University junior this Saturday for his dedication to volunteer service.
Tulsa native William "BJ" O’Connor will receive the President's Volunteer Service Award at an airport in Enid.
O’Connor is a member of Campus Crusade for Christ.
He and other members of the organization spent their spring break in New Orleans helping with clean up efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
O'Connor gutted out the interior of eight houses that were unsuitable for living because of mold and flood damage.
He also volunteers with two of OSU's annual community outreach programs, The Big Event and Into the Streets.
