OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma Congressman says he's written a letter to a federal agency asking it to settle a legal fight between Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson and poultry farmers and companies.
US Representative John Sullivan says it's time for the Environmental Protection Agency to mediate the pollution fight between Oklahoma and the poultry industry.
He says that during a recent congressional hearing on Superfund Laws and Animal Agriculture waste, the EPA offered mediation in the poultry waste lawsuit filed by Edmondson last year.
Sullivan says the state's scenic waterways have suffered for years from too much out-of-state poultry waste.
