Three Oklahomans named in piracy lawsuit

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Three Oklahomans are among those being sued by the Recording Industry Association of America in lawsuits that accuse them of distributing copyrighted music on the Internet.

Casey Johnson, Dustin Lambert and Chrysandra Staab are among 285 people in 24 states named in federal lawsuits filed on behalf of major record companies.

The three are accused of distributing the music by using unauthorized peer-to-peer services such as Kazaa and LimeWire.

Association officials say more than 4-thousand of similar music piracy lawsuits have been settled. Although the association declined to disclose the details of the settlements, it's been reported the average settlement is for between $4,000 and $5,000.
