Easter weekend is this Sunday and in many families, small fuzzy colored chicks, ducks and bunnies are an Easter tradition.
News on 6 reporter Rick Wells found a store in Sapulpa where colored chicks, ducks and bunnies are a big Easter tradition too.
2 year old Hailey has her eye on a floppy eared bunny. he bunny's more interested in getting back with it's buddies. Fuzzy chicks and ducks and bunnies are an Easter tradition at the Farmer's Feed Store in Sapulpa.
Kay Johnston says they've got customers who insist on 'em. "He said now you're gonna have colored baby chicks aren't you?. He made it a point to come get 'em." I don't think I'd seen these since I was a kid so when I heard they had them here I had to come see. "Most people just bring their children, and they see 'em and of course they have to buy 'em for the child."
Actually, she recommends buying two, you wouldn't want the little guy to get lonely. I was looking for one that looked best with my blue sweater, maybe the orange one. Then I heard a customer say something about potty training the bunnies. How do you potty train a bunny rabbit? "Same way you do a puppy, paper train, you can even do a litter box like a cat." Really?
Kay says not to worry about the color on the chicks, it doesn't seem to bother them and it only lasts for a few days. "He's already losing his color."
And they don't stay cute that long either, they grow up to be big chickens.
The chicks are going for $1.50.
