OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A former Fort Sill soldier is going to prison for a year-and-a-half for his role in a drug smuggling ring.
Former Army Specialist Shannon Elleby was sentenced today to 18 months in prison. He pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge in November in federal court in Oklahoma City.
Elleby is one of more than a half-dozen current and former soldiers who were accused of taking bribes in an FBI sting called ``Operation Tarnish Star.''
