CHANDLER, Okla. (AP) _ Motorcyclists alert authorities to a possible puppy mill housed on land belonging to the city manager in Chandler.
Officials say 20 dogs were taken into custody from property near Bell Cow Lake that's owned by Reuben Pulis.
The motorcyclists smelled the odor of dead animals and animal feces while they riding. Officials say the group also noticed dogs that looked neglected as well as small, feces-covered cages holding multiple dogs with no food.
The riders called the sheriff's department, which, in turn, contacted the Humane Society in Shawnee.
Officials say Pulis was cooperative and hasn't been charged.
