OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma House passes a bill to make it a felony for adults to sponsor parties for participants under age 21 where drugs and alcohol are available.
The bill would also authorize the parents of a child who dies from an overdose at a party to sue adults who supervised the event.
The measure now goes to the state Senate, where supporters said Wednesday they expect it to pass easily.
The bill's author is Representative Fred Perry. He says parents should not have to worry about whether their son or daughter will be exposed to drugs and liquor when they visit or spend the night at a friend's house.
