A Jenks soldier is back home.

US Army Private First Class Jay Patton came home to lots of smiles, hugs, a few tears of joy and some Arby's Wednesday afternoon.

A giant banner welcomed him back to Sooner soil and after seven months in Iraq, Patton is glad to be back, even if it is for just a couple of weeks.

"Oh you have no idea, it's only for a short time, but it's good to be back. It's very good to be back.â€

Patton enlisted when he was a junior in high school. This was his first tour of duty in Iraq.
