Environmental and oil well crews are working to clean-up an oil spout in Oklahoma City. Officials say they asked residents within an eight mile radius to stay in their homes after a valve on the oil well ruptured sending a mixture of oil, natural gas, and salt water into the air. Officials say the mixture is naturally occurring from the Earth, however the salt water is harmful to plant life.
"It's libel to stunt some grass growth, stunt some trees maybe. We're in the process of cleaning it up. I have environmental agencies out here and we'll wash all the houses, cars and all the plant life," said John Watson, New Dominion LLC
Officials say they've blocked off the spout until the valve is repaired.
