The City of Sand Springs is building a new future, from the ground up. City leaders just closed a deal, thanks to Vision 2025 money, for a new early childhood center. The $3.5 million project is part of the funding being used to revitalize areas along the Keystone Corridor.
Planners say not only will the center benefit the educational future of area children, it will also boost the economy and bring new families and businesses to Sand Springs.
"You want to do a quality of life that encourages and enhances those people to come to the community. And then, the opportunities and the work will follow them," said Sand Springs Vice Mayor Mike Burdge.
Construction on the childhood center should begin this spring. Leaders hope to have it open in the fall of 2009.
