HOUSTON (AP) -- It's been nearly two weeks since Rice University honors student Matthew Wilson from Oklahoma disappeared. Houston police are monitoring a bank account and hoping for a sighting of the 20-year-old student or his car as the search continues. His mother is Cathy Wilson of Haworth, Oklahoma, and says she last saw her son at Thanksgiving.
Wilson was last seen by his roommate at their off-campus apartment the evening of December 14th. That was five days before the deadline to turn in take-home exams for Wilson's classes.
The junior computer science major missed the deadline.
Earlier on December 14th, Wilson had withdrawn $400 from his bank account.
Rice Police Chief Bill Taylor says investigators have checked the account for further activity or clues -- but turned up nothing. Taylor says there's no indication of foul play.
Wilson is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds, has red hair and green eyes. He had a full beard when last seen by his roommate.
His car is a silver 2004 Dodge Neon with Oklahoma license plate 863 MCZ.
