Fatal Crash Shuts Down Turnpike

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A multi-vehicle accident with at least one fatality shut down the westbound lanes of the Turner Turnpike just east of Oklahoma City for several hours early Thursday morning.  

At least one semi was involved in the crash at mile marker 143 less than 10 miles east of the Interstate 35 exit in Oklahoma City. Westbound drivers were diverted off the turnpike at the Chandler gate.

All lanes of the turnpike reopened to traffic about an hour after the accident.  The Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
