1 package of Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crust 5 medium Jonathan apples, peeled and thinly sliced 3/4 cup C&H granulated sugar 3 tablespoons cornstarch 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger "Streusel Topping" 1/2 cup Gold Medal all?purpose flour 1/4 cup C&H brown sugar 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 3 tablespoons Land O' Lakes butter, firm
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and place both pie dough's on counter and let them come to room temperature.
2. In a large bowl place peeled and sliced apples. In another small bowl stir together sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and ginger. Gradually add to apples, mixing well. Let mixture stand while you fix the streusel topping.
3. In a small bowl stir together flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Blend in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Take one of the pie dough's and press into a 9?inch pie pan. Then take apple mixture and place in pie pan. Then sprinkle streusel topping onto apples. Take the second pie dough and cut with a large apple cookie cutter an apple shape out of the center of the dough. Place on top of streusel topping and trim edges of the pie dough. With the extra dough trimmings take a small apple cookie cutter and cut small apples out of it and use them to make a decorative edge. Brush small apples with an egg wash to keep them from coming off when baking.
5. Place in oven and bake for 1 hour.
