Rich Lenz co-anchors Six in the Morning along with LeAnne Taylor.
Lenz returned to Oklahoma and Griffin Communications in September 2007. He previously worked for Griffin Communications-owned News 9 in Oklahoma City from 1989 to 1994. Lenz worked as both a sports anchor and reporter enthusiastically covering OU and OSU athletics, and is happy to be back in Oklahoma as a fan.
Lenz joined News On 6 from WDSU in New Orleans where he worked as sports director and reporter from 1994 until 2005. He transitioned to the position of news anchor in 2005 following his dramatic experiences during Hurricane Katrina. Following the disaster, Lenz spent a week reporting from the Netherlands about their levee system.
Originally from Illinois and Connecticut, Lenz graduated from the University of Georgia and has worked in Lafayette, Louisiana, Tallahassee, Florida and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Lenz met and married his wife, Leslie, in Oklahoma City and today they have two children, Cameron and Claire. Lenz is a musician and vocalist who has written several original songs for the Children's Miracle Network. He is also an avid New Orleans Saints fan.
