A major layoff is planned for Tulsa Public Schools with the district planning to cut 174 positions.
Tulsa's school board is expected to vote on this at Thursday night's meeting.
Superintendent Deborah Gist said this is the biggest part of fixing a $20 million budget shortfall. The district released a list of names including mentors translators, administrative assistants, and 64 custodians.

TPS says 110 of those jobs would be cut on July 1. The custodian positions would be eliminated through attrition as current staff members leave or retire.
District leaders said it is a difficult call, but they feel like this is what they have to do to provide crucial services within their financial means.
The school board meeting starts at 5 p.m. Thursday.
