Disney Packing

Last year, a record-breaking 126.1 million out-of-state visitors visited Florida, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

It’s no wonder, with all the great attractions their great state has to offer and Florida is the “sunshine state”.

The Orlando Sentinel also mentioned the increase in was due in part to Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld all opened new attractions that year.

There are so many reasons to visit Disney World, but no matter what yours are, one thing everyone needs is their Disney packing list!

No one wants to arrive at the park to be told they are carrying items they won’t let you bring in. Or being in the park and realizing you forgot something important.

So let’s nail down this list to help make your visit to Disney World the absolute best.

Disney Packing List

If you are visiting Disney for the first time or the 50th time, it is important to have a packing list so you don’t forget anything.

You don’t want to pack too much since you’ll be carrying it around all day. But you need to bring enough to get you through the day comfortably.

What TO Bring to Disney World

Here are the items you need to bring on your Disney World vacation.

Besides your tickets and your camera, of course!

Comfortable Walking Shoes

Bring comfortable shoes you have worn before so they are broken in. You will be walking a lot and you’ll be less likely to get blisters in shoes that are a bit broken in.

If you are susceptible to getting blisters, be sure to bring band-aids.

Change of Socks

Bring an extra pair of socks. It is very likely your feet will get wet from either a ride, thunderstorm or from walking a lot.

Make sure you have a dry pair of socks to change into to keep your feet comfortable.

Skincare Products

Skincare products need to be on everyone’s packing list for Disney World.

You’ll be out in the sun and other elements so bring along your sunscreen, chapstick/lip balm, sunglasses, and hand sanitizer.

Mini-Fan

Depending on the time of year you are visiting, it can get hot out in the sun and while waiting in lines. Bring a battery-operated mini-fan along to help keep you cool.

Reusable Water Bottle

To help you stay hydrated and cut down some of the costs for drinks at the park, bring your own re-useable water bottle. Just make sure it isn’t made of glass.

You can ask for water and ice at various stands throughout the park then pour it into your own bottle.

Snacks

Bring snacks that hold up well to traveling and don’t need to be refrigerated.

These items make great choices:

  • Firm fruits (apples, pears)
  • Crackers, pretzels, popcorn (put in a container)
  • Bars (granola bars, protein bars, breakfast bars)
  • Jerky, dried fruit, fruit roll-ups, trail mix, nuts (put in snack bags)

Stroller

If you have a little one, a stroller is a necessity. You can rent strollers at the park or bring your own.

Note: Just make sure your stroller meets the high requirements in the link listed below under what not to bring.

Umbrella or Ponchos

Florida is known to have thundershowers even in the Summer. So bring an umbrella or a poncho to help keep yourself dry.

You can find both for sale at the park, but you’ll save a lot of money bringing your own with you.

Bug Repellant

Florida is hot and humid most of the year. So bugs can be an issue.

They do have bug repellants are stations in the park, but to save time and be sure you’re prepared, you may want to bring along your favorite.

Pain Medication

Be sure to bring along favorite pain medication in case your muscles get sore or you develop a headache.

What NOT to Bring to Disney World

What not to bring is almost as important as what to put on your Disney World packing list.

After finding parking and waiting in line, no one wants to turn around and head back to their car or hotel to return items that Disney World won’t let you bring in.

Some of the items listed on the Disney World website are:

  • Firearms, ammunition, knives, and weapons of any kind
  • Pepper spray or mace
  • Marijuana or marijuana enriched products, illegal substances, or alcoholic beverages
  • Glass containers (baby jars are OK though)
  • Horns, whistles, large megaphones or artificial noisemakers
  • Recreational devices such as drones, remote-control toys, skateboards, scooters, inline skates or shoes with built-in wheels

There are other restrictions on stroller size, wagons, wheeled mobility devices and more listed here.
