As expected Oklahoma City voted through its emergency relief plan for small businesses Tuesday.
Other municipalities are following suit to help struggling businesses.
On Tuesday Edmond passed a microgrant program for it struggling businesses
In Oklahoma City, the plan includes $5.5 million in low and no interest loans and other incentives to companies that keep their full-time employees.
“Their economic loss is saving lives,” said Mayor David Holt Tuesday after the unanimous vote.
The city admits $5.5 million is not enough money to help everyone who needs it.
More funding could eventually be made available.
