The Tulsa Airport Authority will be meeting to approve more than $15 million in federal grants to local airports.
The U.S. Department of Transportation is giving more than $15 million to Tulsa International Airport as part of the federal CARES Act.
Thursday, the Airport Authority will be voting on whether to accept that money.
The grant for TIA is $15.5 million.
The grant would also provide $157,000 to Jones Riverside Airport.
The money can be used for operational costs, including things like utilities or employee wages.
In total, the U.S. government is giving airports across the country more $10 billion as air traffic plummets due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
