OSDH Reports 77 Oklahomans Test Positive For Coronavirus, No New Virus-Related Deaths Reported

No new virus-related deaths were reported on Sunday while 77 more Oklahomans tested positive for coronavirus since Saturday's report, according to daily numbers released by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

A total of 6,037 Oklahomans have tested positive for COVID-19 and 311 total virus-related deaths were reported, the state health department said Saturday. 43 more Oklahomans were reported to have recovered from the virus bringing the statewide total to 4,688.

On April 28, Gov. Kevin Stitt said anyone who wished to take a COVID-19 test could do so even if they are not presenting symptoms.

On April 22, Stitt introduced his multi-phase plan for reopening the state beginning with plans to reopen personal care businesses on Friday by appointment only.

Oklahoma City and Tulsa started reopening on Friday, May 1, after they allowed their shelter in place orders expire.

Stitt issued an executive order April 2 declaring a health emergency in all 77 Oklahoma counties.

The state health department advises anyone with COVID-19 symptoms such as shortness of breath, fever or coughing to stay home and limit person-to-person engagement.
