Tulsa County District Court officials said most misdemeanor docket activity is being suspended until august 1st after an attorney tested positive for COVID-19.
After the positive case was reported, Judge William LaFortune ordered a judge, a bailiff, and multiple court reporters to stay home for 14 days as the worked on the same docket as the attorney.
“Our primary focus is keeping both our staff and participants in the courts safe,” LaFortune said. “We felt like this action was necessary and we will continue to closely monitor all of our courts.”
Officials said anyone scheduled to appear on the misdemeanor docket in June or July will be given a date for a new appearance, which likely be in August.
Officials said new dates will be posted to OSCN, and the court will make more announcements soon.
