A Jenks intersection, 111th and Elwood, will be closed starting July 14 as the city partners with ODOT for a big project.
Each direction of the intersection will be widened to three lanes with curbs and gutters.
The city said there will also be a new storm sewer installed under the roadway. It will be designed to accommodate future widening plans for the intersection.
The Coal Creek Bridge will also be widened to four lanes. Other plans for this area include a new sidewalk and trail that will tie into the existing trail just east of Elwood Avenue.
Despite the closures, people living in homes in the area will still have access to their neighborhoods.
Bus routes for Jenks students living in the area could also be disrupted, the city said the school district will send out additional information if that happens.
