OHP Releases Report On Drowning At Fort Gibson Lake

One person is dead after drowning in Fort Gibson Lake.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Jon Malek of Broken Arrow was operating a boat and jumped out to swim.

Troopers said Malek immediately started to struggle.

A report said his passenger tried to throw him a flotation device but wasn't able to get it to him due to wind. The passenger and a bystander brought him to a marina where medics pronounced him dead.
