Some local photographers are helping people who are unemployed by giving them free head shots.

Even though Oklahoma's unemployment rate dropped significantly for June, there are still man people out of work at the moment.

The U.S. Department of Labor shows Oklahoma's unemployment rate declined to 6.6 percent in June, which is down from 12.6 percent in May.

Local photographers Pam Stukenborg and Tami Molinaro wanted to team up to take free head shots for people who are unemployed.

It's part of the national 10,000 head shots campaign taking place on Wednesday. Hundreds of photographers across the country are helping those impacted by the pandemic.

"On LinkedIn you get 21 times more interaction if you have a good profile picture. Nine times more chances of actually having a communication with someone else and we know linked in is super important with jobs,” Stukenborg said.

The photo appointments are only 10 minutes long so there will be no lines to help maintain physical distancing.

They also said the photos will be digitally uploaded immediately, so you'll have them on your phone before you even walk out the door.

The photos are taking place at Bedford Camera tomorrow from 10 to 7, but you must sign up today to save your spot.
