The superintendent at Tulsa Public Schools is recommending the district start the new year completely online.
Superintendent Deborah Gist sent a letter to parents on Monday alerting them that she intends to recommend the district not hold in-person classes for the start of the year. Dr. Gist has not said how long the period of online-only school would last.
The teacher's union has recommended online classes for the first 9 weeks, from the start of classes August 31 through fall break.
