Jennings Public Schools in Pawnee County is one of the first in the state to try to return to some form of normalcy.
Jennings Superintendent said the first day went smoothly and they saw lots of smiles after school. District leaders know there will be a learning curve, but they hope this community can help teach others how to monitor their situation and adjust as needed.
Masks are not required except for cafeteria staff, but everyone must have temperature checks every day. Students are space apart in class, at lunch and in the hallways.
Students do have the option for virtual school, as well as a blended option, if they do not want to go to school in person.
