Yale Cleaners is one of many Oklahoma businesses that has struggled in recent months.
A Stanford University survey said that 75% of Americans are working from home, meaning fewer people are getting dry cleaning. As a result, Yale Cleaners has closed one of its locations and laid off employees.
Owner John Rothrock said it’s not clear when things will return to normal.
“People aren’t going to work,” said Rothrock. “When they don't go to work, they're not wearing clothes and not bringing it to us. There's no proms, no graduations, no weddings, no funerals, no anniversaries - people aren't getting out on the town and going out and dressing up."
The National Dry Cleaners Association said cleaners across the country are seeing a 50-80% drop in business.
