We all know how hot it is right now, but imaging not having air conditioning in your home?

It's a reality for many people in the Tulsa area and one local group is hoping to change that.

The Community Service Council's Tulsa Weather Coalition provides free air conditioning units to those in need.

On Monday, volunteers went out to install a window air conditioning unit for an elderly man who lives near 56th Street North and Martin Luther King Blvd.

The group is now hoping others in need will contact them and apply.

Melinda Belcher with Tulsa Weather Coalition said "they fill out an application and they have to meet certain criteria. They have to live in Tulsa County, not have any other air conditioner in their home, meet low-income guidelines, and have a medical need that is exasperated during the heat."

If you need an A/c unit, you can dial 2-1-1 or visit the Tulsa Weather Coalition's website HERE.
