Giant Panda Gives Birth To Cub At The Smithsonian's National Zoo

WELCOME TO THE WORLD: A Giant panda cub was born on August 21 at 6:35 p.m. at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D.C. Mei Xiang cradled and licked her cub after it was born. Zoo staff say the cub and mom appear to be doing well.
