Woman Found Shot To Death Near Fairland

An Ottawa County woman is dead and her husband and 12-year-old daughter are being detained for questioning.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a deadly shooting Wednesday.

Authorities said a 12-year-old girl called the department and stated something was wrong with her mother. Deputies arrived and found the girl’s mother sitting in a recliner, dead with a gunshot wound to the chest.

No suspect information has been released and no arrests have been made at this time.
