A young girl in Bartlesville wrote a letter to heaven this week and sent it to the post office to be delivered. Heaven answered back with a special delivery.
When the people working at the Bartlesville Post Office saw 9-year-old Laynee Reese’s letter, they knew they wanted to do something special.
"I have received and received a lot of letters through the mail stream but none that have been addressed to Heaven," said Bartlesville Postmaster Justin Wilson.
They put some money together to buy presents. Toys, a journal and stationery for Laynee and everything Mickey Mouse for her 7-year-old brother Huck.
"You always have doubts that you aren't doing stuff right and then something like that happens,” Casey Reese, Laynee’s mother said. “It makes you feel like you are doing something right."
“I love my grandkids,” said Laynee and Huck’s grandmother Kathy Reese, “They have got big hearts, they are special, they are beautiful.”
When we are brave enough to write to Heaven, sometimes we are lucky enough that Heaven answers back.
“I just wanted to talk to them,” said Laynee.
