Jenks students choosing to learn in-person are heading back to the classroom.
Officials said masks will be the biggest noticeable change to start the year. They’ll be required for all staff and students starting in 3rd grade and on school buses.
The district came to the decision to return after they said cases in the county started to lower.
Physical distancing will be emphasized in many areas where it can happen.
The district said teachers will receive PPE.
They’ll even have a couple administrators dedicated to contact tracing in case someone tests positive, and running totals will be posted on the district’s website.

New air filters have been installed to help remove germs, and there will be lots of sanitizing.
Rob Loeber with Jenks Public Schools said “We’ll gave cleaning crews in every single day to wipe everything down. Teachers, of course, have those materials they can get their hands on as well and if they want to be doing that during the day it’s also highly encouraged to wipe down desks and wipe down chairs after the kids leave the classroom and before the next set of kids come in.”
