Dry conditions expected today, but moisture associated with Tropical Storm Beta will bring some rain into part of Oklahoma soon. Highs this afternoon should reach the upper 70s to lower 80s along with partly cloudy conditions. Temps will remain near normal for the rest of the week as rain chances return late tonight into Tuesday.

Our forecast has gone through some changes over the weekend compared to late last week due to some differences in the eventual outcome of Tropical storm Beta. Last week, it appeared this system would parallel the Texas coastal region and remain offshore until arriving in Louisiana Wednesday. The forecast track has shifted some and will allow for a landfall across southern Texas later tonight. Low level moisture will be able to surge northward ahead of the system out of Texas and move into at least southeastern Oklahoma and possibly northeastern Oklahoma later Monday night into Tuesday. Because of this, we have added probabilities for rain. A few showers will be possible today across the Texoma River Valley region with increasing chances tonight across southeastern OK, including the possibility of some moderate rainfall into Tuesday for these locations. Rain should be ongoing Tuesday morning for parts of eastern Oklahoma with some of this moving northward during the day. The Tulsa metro chances will be increasing to 60% for tomorrow with overcast sky and highs near 70. Locations along and south of I-40 will have a much greater chance compared to the north, with south-central Oklahoma in a favorable position for heavy rainfall. As Beta moves slightly more east Wednesday morning, this will end the chances for any precipitation in our area until the 2nd half of the weekend as another surface cold front moves across the state bringing a chance for a few thunderstorms.

The official Autumnal Equinox begins tomorrow morning at 8:30AM. It appears our weather will match the calendar. Highs tomorrow will be near 70 with rain chances for some locations.
