Owasso and Union open district play Friday night in the Tulsa Tech Game of the Week.
The Rams look to keep their 16-game winning streak alive and continue their chase for a second straight gold ball.
For tight end Jaxon Woods, he hopes this weekend brings more than just a win.
Owasso puts its winning streak on the line Friday night, and even though Union has struggled to start the season, Owasso Head Coach Bill Blankenship isn't overlooking a program he coached for more than a decade.
“I worry that we have had two weeks now for them to get ready for us,” Blankenship said. “If you really want to win a district championship, it goes through Union, it always has."
Owasso used last week's bye week to refocus as it heads into district play.
Enter Jaxon Woods, the junior tight end who is eying his first touchdown of the year against Union.
"That would be huge for me I would really be happy for that,” Woods said.
Blankenship stresses to his team to always focus on their goals. Woods has kept his eyes on his targets: a second straight state title and a scholarship at the University of Southern California.
"I've seen players that have come out of there and have been inspired by that program,” Woods said.
Owasso and Union will take the field Friday night.
