6 Things To Know (Oct 9): International Pizza & Beer Day

Here’s a look at six things to know before you set your alarm for Friday.

1.REGISTER TO VOTE: Friday is the last day to register to vote in Oklahoma for the November 3 election. In Rogers County, the election board will extend its hours until midnight for Friday only.

2.SHOW YOU CARE: It’s the United Way Day of Caring. From painting fire hydrants to making improvements at the Salvation Army, more than 1,600 volunteers from over 45 companies and organizations will be out making a difference here in Green Country.

3.BRING ON THE DIRT: The Professional Bull Riders rodeo Express Ranches Classic is this weekend, and on Friday the BOK Center will transform for the event. Crews will bring in 750 tons of dirt at 1 p.m.

4.AN UNLIKELY PAIRING: It’s opera and baseball on Friday. The Tulsa Opera will open its 2020-2021 season with a live audience at OneOK field in downtown Tulsa at 7:30 p.m.

5.DOWN TO THE WIRE: It’s game five of the NBA finals. The Los Angeles Lakers are up 3-1 in the series against the Miami Heat. Tipoff is at 8 p.m.

6.GAME DAY SNACKS: If you’re planning your dinner and drinks for the game – it’s International Pizza and Beer day.
