The Golden Hurricane will go for their third road win of the season Saturday, as they make the trip to Annapolis to face Navy.
After dropping its season opener, Tulsa rattled off three straight wins, and is tied atop the AAC standings with sixth ranked Cincinnati.
The challenge this week will be stopping an offense they don't normally see: the triple option
"You basically take your defensive playbook or schematic plan and you put it over to the side to the side of your desk and you pull out a whole new deal for them,” Head Coach Philip Montgomery said.
The Midshipmen have won the last five meetings with TU. With a shortened week due to Election Day, Head Coach Philip Montgomery said the focus will be dialed up.
"It’s about being able to be really assignment sound and get your plan in a three-day period and just try and simulate what they do,” Montgomery said. “It’s not like we have bunch of option quarterbacks around here."
Saturday will mark the third road trip to the east coast, and Coach Montgomery believes his senior leadership has kept the team in the right mind set so far with long road trips.
"Our leadership has done a great job keeping us in that mode,” Montgomery said. “I'm not as concerned as I have been in years past, but like you said this is three big ones in a row."
