Tulsa Police said a man is in jail after recording a video of himself shooting and killing his 16-year-old cousin. An arrest report stated the shooting happened in the backseat of a car.

Police said they arrested 21-year-old Gabriel Esobedo-Escalera. His cousin, Jose Angel Garcia, who was riding in the front seat, has died, police said.

The report said one of the people in the car had a gun and the suspect asked to see it so he could record a video to send to a friend.

After recording the video, the suspect handed the gun back and the owner of the gun loaded it, according to the report. The suspect said the first video did not send and asked to see the gun again.

Police said the suspect started recording a second video, pulling the trigger several times. The report stated the gun went off this time, killing his cousin in the front passenger seat.

Tulsa Police said the driver of the car took the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Esobedo-Escalera now faces charges of second-degree manslaughter.
