A Tulsa pastor is in critical condition with COVID-19 and his wife, who is recovering from the virus, said there are signs of improvement.

Shannon Wilburn, local business owner, is slowly recovering. Mitch Wilburn, the pastor of The Park Church of Christ, was diagnosed October 12 and has been on a ventilator for one week.

Shannon, like so many other families, couldn't visit the hospital. One week after Mitch, she tested positive for COVID-19 and said even her milder symptoms have left her exhausted, unable to think clearly.

"If you believe this is a fake virus, I've experienced it and that's not the case," Shannon said.

She's had lots of supporters helping her while Mitch remains in the hospital. Her mother is tracking all of the prayers for the family from people all over the world.

The overwhelming support is what she credits with her improvement and the positive signs from Mitch. He's still on a ventilator, but doctors said not for much longer.

Mitch had a bout of cancer six years ago and Shannon donated a kidney several years ago. Both were taking precautions, both got COVID-19 and they are grateful they're surviving and improving.
