Tulsa Police said two people were arrested after leading them on a chase in a stolen car. The incident started just before midnight when the driver of the car ran a red light near I-244 and South Sheridan Road, according to police.
TPD said when they tried to pull the car over, the driver took off on Sheridan near Admiral and continued onto Archer. They said at one point the driver even pulled into the entrance of an apartment complex.
Police said the helicopter followed the car to Maplewood Avenue. Tulsa Police said it was this spot where the driver and passenger got out of the car and tried to run away on foot.
They were eventually both caught and taken to jail, according to police. They said they found a gun inside the stolen car.
“Fortunately in a situation like this we’re able to recover the car and give it back to the victim where it’s not been damaged,” said Lt. Brett Bilyeu, Tulsa Police.
Police said the driver is a juvenile who was arrested for the stolen car, running away and having the gun. They said the passenger is Ashley Jordan, and she was arrested for obstruction and joyriding.
