A Broken Arrow motivational author wants to inspire people to not lose hope during these uncertain times.
Abraham Cruz wrote his book “Forever Faith” in 2017. However, he said as we deal with a global pandemic, now is the perfect to remind people not to lose faith.
Cruz is on a mission to show people that something good can come out of something bad. He lives in Broken Arrow, but was born and raised in Los Angeles, growing up without a father and living in poverty.
“Single mother, raising three kids in one-bedroom apartment,” Cruz said.
Abe said it wasn’t until he was playing college football that he began to experience life and how it felt to make more money than he ever imagined.
“To be at 19 years old and having a $20,000 month, I was hooked on chasing money,” Cruz said.
At the age of 23, Cruz said that love for money turned his life in a bad direction, transporting cocaine across the country.
“It just so happens this state of Oklahoma pulled me over right on the turnpike,” Cruz said.
Cruz was facing 30 years in prison for drug trafficking. However, he was sentenced to 10 years and served just over three years behind bars.
After praying and fasting in prison, Cruz said the seed of faith grew. That’s when he said God revealed his future, empowering him to stay the course even after being released.
Since then, Cruz has done countless motivational speeches and said he also encourages his son, Justin to always remain faithful even when it seems all hope is lost.
“With the pandemic and everything going because people are losing their faith, and my message is simple, forever faith,” Cruz said.
